Executive Master Program in Health Policy and Management

About Us

Health-related industries have become the most promising industries with great development potential and increased importance in advanced countries in the 21st century. In Taiwan, numerous opportunities are available for those who are equipped with advanced knowledge and adequate training, especially those who are capable to perform scientific management strategy to sever health industries in this country. Therefore, we develop this graduate program and provide them with most advanced knowledge for healthcare professionals to meet the needs of future challenges. 

Based on the mission, this graduate program aims to cultivate interdisciplinary health management professionals who engage in medical services and promote Taiwanese people’s health. In addition, according to the government’s policies, this school stresses on diverse and interdisciplinary learning to meet the demands of the current industrial environment in this country. 

Objectives

Our objectives are as follows: to cultivate our students with advanced management and operation knowledge for health-industry professionals, and prepared them with international vision; to provide our students with diverse selective courses to meet each professional’s need in different industries such as nutrition and health care, hospitality management, occupational safety and health, medical information and medical management, public health, medical care and foreign languages, and long-term care; and to equip our students with skills and scientific tools to be able to apply to their professionals and to be competitive management personnel in each health-industry. Through our efforts, we hope all our graduates would be able to perform professional roles in each their jobs to enhance business quality and achieve the following goals:

1. With adequate knowledge to improve health-industry management; 

2. Capable to integrate practical knowledge systematically to solve problems or to make decisions;

3. With social responsibilities, professional ethics, and have an international vision; 

4. To become outstanding leaders in health-industry management and operation.

Academics

The master’s program aims to cultivate outstanding leaders in health-industry management and operation, and therefore this program is carried out mostly by using problem-based learning and interdisciplinary teamwork research and learning models alone with series of advanced business management lectures. Meanwhile, industrial elites are invited to participate our teachings and host various industrial-trend forums to delivery international business trends and prospective. Students in the master’s program must complete 32 credit hours of classes, including core occupational courses, e.g., management, marketing, and accounting, and certain elective courses. A thesis is required based on students’ interests related to their professionals, or certain emerging topics related to rapid changes in health-care environments.

3. The competence to fulfill professional ethics and have an international outlook;

4. The competence to have leadership in health-related industries.
